How can I renew my books online?

Renewals

Most library materials may be renewed ONE time unless:

  • The material is on reserve or hold for another patron or library
  • The material has already been renewed
  • The material is not allowed to be renewed

Please note you will need to provide your library barcode when renewing materials.

To renew online, go to the PrairieCat catalog on our website

  1. Login to your account using your library card barcode number and PIN number
  2. Open My Account
  3. On the left-hand side of the screen, under your name and contact information, open the “# ITEMS CURRENTLY CHECKED OUT” option
  4. A list of materials you have checked out will appear.
  5. Click on “Renew All” if you want to renew all of your materials.
  6. Or, click the box next to the titles you want to renew and then click the “RENEW MARKED” button.
  7. You should then see a renewal confirmation screen.

Please Note….

Interlibrary loan materials from outside of the Prairie Area Library System are not always renewable. Loan periods for these interlibrary loans are set by the loaning libraries and we encourage patrons to use these materials in the time the home library has allotted. If a renewal is necessary, please contact our Interlibrary Loan Department at least four-working days before the material is due so that we can get in touch with the loaning library to request a renewal.
